2023 Spring - EHG Garden Teacher Training
Join us on Earth Day and learn about how to start an educational garden at your school or community! From how to build and maintaining an organic garden to how to teach young students to grow organic food. EHG GTT is a hands on experiences with over 40 lessons to teach in a garden setting.

About the Event
We will meet from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on April 22nd and 23rd. at Joseph Fields Farm, a 3rd generation organic farm located in Johns Island, S.C. Snacks will be provided and lunch will be prepared by participants. (Feel free to bring any extra food and water)
In our first day, we will learn to build a garden bed "from scratch" explore different type of soils, organic pestisides, garden weekly maintaince, organic fertilizer and seasonal growing. We also will talk about different garden products students can learn to make with what they grow in the garden.
On the second day, we will explore EHG Garden Curriculum and learn different lesson and activities, aligned with S.C. standards of Science, Language, Math and other. Our goal is that teachers and community leaders feel confident to start teaching young students to connect with the earth, grow organic food, cook healthy meals and learn about sustainable habits and practices that can help the environment.
